Work Experience

July 1997 to September 2004
France Télécom Transpac

My first job.

It started as an 8 weeks work placement & it lasted 7 years! Going from X25 to MPLS protocol.

This is where I learned my role, where I met peers who taught me Frame Relay, MPLS, BGP, EIGRP, RIP or OSPF which I am fluent in. (I went on to meet these peers later on in my career but this time as customers).

My role was to act as SMB deployment project manager for small to mid-size organisations.

October 2004 to September 2006
Telecom Italia

First experience outside of France Telecom Group, I brought my MPLS & network deployment expertise along.  The company eventually changed its name from Tiscali to Télécom Italia. During that time I met Alice (the girl from the advert at the time).

October 2006 à July 2011
BT France

BT France was the first company in which English fluency was a requirement, I migrated to the dark side by becoming Pre-sales Engineer then into business Development.  It is during this period that I started transferring my sill set into the software part which eventually opened the doors to many opportunities including my next role.

August 2011 to December 2018
iPass

First steps into a US software company, my first real exposure to international / global markets.  Also a realisation of my true English level (which I thought was decent following my BT experience), took me 6-8 months of levelling up but eventually got there.

January 2019 to April 2021
Huawei Technologie France

Yes I did work for 2.5 half in a Chinese company!!! Started as the Orange Business Service Senior Channel Manager & left as a retail account manager.

Went back to my initial love affair with network although more focused on LAN, Wi-Fi, SD-LAN & Visio-conferencing solutions.

Working in a Chinese cultural environment is a very different experience even when you are called “Yang” but it is also very rewarding, I would recommend it if you want to learn new ways of working.

May 2021 to September 2021
Extreme Networks

Back into a US based organisation, as an Account executive managing the retail, industrial, logistic & freight market segments.

The role consisted of:

  • Account based management (From small / mid-size organisation to global ones)
  • Cross channel pricing management
  • New account prospection

After 2 years of COVID-19 pandemic and associated lockdown, I have decided to embark on a new challenge as a Freelance consultant. I leave the corporate world behind me to sail into the entrepreneurial one.
